Marion Area Transition
Team (MATT)

MATT MISSION STATEMENT
MATT (Marion Area Transition
Team) is a council committed to coordinating services to facilitate
smooth transition for individuals with disabilities into adult
lives that are productive in the educational, recreational, residential,
social, and vocational realms.
As parents we have hopes of
a good life for all of our children with or without special needs.
However, it is apparent that the challenges faced by children with
special needs create more obstacles and make a difficult transition
from childhood to adulthood even tougher. These obstacles
should in no way deter us from those hopes and aspirations nor should
it leave our children with special needs without dreams and the
ability to fulfill those dreams.
Parents are encouraged to become
a part of the Marion Area Transition Team (MATT) to work closely
with District staff and agencies to provide the supports and services
necessary for their children to fulfill their dreams of becoming
independent and productive adults in their community and living
as normal a life as possible.
MATT meetings are held the 3rd
Thursday of every month -- August thru May. For further information,
