Acronyms


We are sure there have been many occasions where you have found yourselves at a meeting with professionals (whether educational or health care) and had letters whizzing past your ears at a phenomenal rate, not being able to (or maybe being too embarrassed to) ask what each one meant.  Well, it is commonplace for professionals in every arena to use abbreviations to form acronyms that describe terms -- the disability arena is no different.  

Here is a list of some of the more common acronyms that are used with regard to the disability community in the areas of education, health care and related services.
